About SpeakUP against Hate
A 24-month transnational project funded by the European Union's CERV programme.
Online hate is growing. The tools to fight it are not.
Young people across Europe encounter online hate speech daily โ on social media, in gaming communities, and in messaging apps. Yet most young people and educators lack the practical knowledge and tools to respond effectively.
Existing resources are often monolingual, adult-centred, or disconnected from the realities of digital culture. There is a clear gap between EU-level policy ambitions and grassroots capacity to act.
A multilingual platform built for real change.
SpeakUP against Hate builds a youth-friendly, educator-supported, AI-enhanced online platform that makes evidence-based anti-hate education accessible across 5 EU languages โ for free.
Co-funded by the European Union
This project is funded under the CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) Programme, Strand 2: Equality, Rights and Gender Equality. The CERV programme promotes and protects EU values, fundamental rights, and democratic participation.
